Dr. Shapoor Shahbazi at Ferdosi Society

Ferdosi Society celebrated Hakim Abolghasem Ferdosi's 1063rd birthday anniversary, on January 10th 2003, at De Anza College in the city of Cupertino.  The guest speaker of the event was Dr. Shapoor Shahbazi, whose lecture was on " Extracting Ferdosi's birth date from the Shahnameh, and the Sasanids' influence in the Shahnameh."  Dr. Shahbazi is a well-known Shahnameh scholar and currently teaches history at the University of Oregan.

On behalf of Ferdosi Society, a certificate of appreciation, was given to Dr. Shahbazi by Mr. Naser Pol.
